Within the Google Plus Itemprop Settings you can customize the itemprop meta tags for your homepage and all the other pages and posts on your site. They are being taken by Google when an user shares your homepage on Google Plus and Google does also take these entries to rank your Website within their Search Engine Results.

You also have the ability to completely customize these value for each post/page or custom post type you create. You can do that within the WP Social SEO Pro settings meta box.

Automatic Schema.org Article Markup

Google announced the introduction of in-depth articles in search results. You have the ability to automatically add the proper markup for the in-depth articles to all your posts. You only need to activate this option within the settings page and Social SEO Pro will do all the rest. The only thing you need to make sure is, that you have an H2 tag within your content. Social SEO pro will then automatically add the correct markup to this H2 tag.

You can see an example from one of our blog posts, how it looks within Google's Structured Data Testing Google here. Just scroll to the bottom of that page and you can see, what Social SEO Pro added automatically for the article markup. The plugin added values for the following itemprops:

headline :

Below is a screen shot taken from the markup of our own site, so that you can see what Social SEO Pro adds to the code:

Other Schema.org Markups

Social SEO Pro adds not only the Article Markup to posts, but it also adds the WebPage markup to all other pages, if you don't customize them. You have the ability to tell Social SEO Pro which markup it should use. You can configure that within the Social SEO Pro Meta Box > General Settings, when you create your content. See image below:

We recommend, that you customize the Page Type for all your pages, wherever possible. The included Page Types within the dropdown menu are the ones which Google supports at the moment. If you can't find one which would fit your page,

then use either Default or WebPage.

You can see an example on our About Page here. We defined this page as an Abut Page and then the Social SEO Plugin added the proper markup to the code like:

<html lang="en-US" prefix="og: http://ogp.me/ns# fb: http://ogp.me/ns/fb# website: http://ogp.me/ns/website#" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/AboutPage">
